YOUNG COMEDIANS
Get hands-on experience and learn the art of stand-up comedy with a qualified teacher and professional comedian and actor.
Our young comedian sessions for under-18s take place on Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm in our dedicated premises on Coombe St, central Exeter.
The Young Comedian sessions provide an excellent opportunity to explore the skills and techniques involved in the art of creating and performing stand-up comedy.
The numerous concepts and skills experienced include:

Developing a comic persona

Set construction

Audience interaction

Creating jokes and laughter lines

Microphone techniques

Character comedy
-
Performance etiquette.
There will also be opportunities for students to showcase their emerging acts and sets.
The sessions aim to be fun and laughter-filled whilst purposefully creating positive comic outcomes.

Our Young Comedians sessions are led by Chris Brooks.
Chris has spent the last two decades working as a comedian, actor and spoken word artist performing at many of the South West’s most prestigious venues. He is a qualified teacher who has taught drama, comedy, performance poetry and storytelling to children and adults of all ages
